SPONSORSHIPS
The Carousel Board has determined that there are many items that remain to be purchased. From this, an assignment of dollar values was made for each of the items described below. Because we are incorporated as a nonprofit organization
, all sponsorships are tax deductible. A special plaque will have an engraving of the name of each sponsor prominently displayed as a token of your generous support and our appreciation.PLATFORM SUPPORT ROD DRESSING - Quantity 24 - COST EACH - $100
The 3/4" steel support rods called sweeps that are anchored into the platform segments. The dressing will amount to covering these rods with polished brass ornamental tubing.
PLATFORM SEGMENTS - Quantity - 12 - COST EACH - $500
These segment, when put together make up the floor of the
Carousel. Each segment consists of a welded steel framework, which is first
covered with plywood, and then a finished hardwood floor is installed. It is one
this floor that the patrons stand as they mount the horses for a ride.
FRAME PANELS - Quantity - 12 - COST EACH - $750
These panels are approximately 4 SHIELD - Quantity -12 - COST EACH - $1,000
The shield is a piece that is attached to the rounding
boards at the point where the adjacent rounding boards come together. Our shield
will be similar to the customary shield and will be approximately 18" wide and
approximately 24" high. It will be ornate with carving and will have a cast
metal face mounted in the center of the shield. There will be six lights on each
shield.
MIRROR PANELS - Quantity - 12 - COST EACH - $1,200
These flat panels are attached to the support arms, called
sweeps, and are mounted at a slight angle protruding out at the top. They are
adjacent to the Frame Panels and thereby help hide the gear mechanisms of the
carousel. These panels, approximately 4' wide and 31/2' tall will contain a
personalization by the sponsor.
CAROUSEL ORGAN - Quantity - 1
The carousel has been purchased as a special gift of the
Butte Soroptomist Club in December 2003. The total cost of the organ was
$43,000. It was handmade and arrived in Butte in June of 2004. It is on display
in our horse corral located next to Penneys.
MUSICAL SELECTIONS - COST EACH - $250
The carousel organ will be able to handle up to 200
musical selections. Sponsors can select a song for their sponsorship.
MACHINE FRAME - Quantity - 1 - COST - 25,000
The frame consists of the base; uprights
support column, sweeps, sweep bracing, platform support rods, all gearing, speed
reduction equipment drive mechanism and controls.
CANOPY - Quantity - 1 - COST - $ 5000
The canopy will be an ornamental covering of the carousel.
It is planned to have 36 nylon panels of three different colors running from the
rounding boards to the top of the center pole support. Spaced between each pair
of panels will be a light cable, also of different colors. Each cable will have
approximately 192 lights for a canopy total of around 6,900 lights.
SILOUHETE HORSE HEADS FOR FENCE POSTS - Quantity 24 - COST - $300
These black metal heads will be cut from steel one-quarter
inch thick. They will be on the twenty fence posts that will surround the
exterior of the carousel building.
LAMP POSTS - Quantity - 8 - COST - $5000
These metal lampposts will have five large white shades at
the top of the poles. Below the posts will be four metal horses. The lampposts
will be located near the entrance to the carousel building. Two completed posts
are on display in the horse corral next to Penneys.
POINT OF SALES SYSTEM
The system will automate our booking system in our gift
shop and help us to keep a more reliable inventory control.
